Abstract

Lithiasis is disease with a high likelihood of recurrence. In addition to the pre-established ethnic and locoregional aspects volume and specific gravity of urine are the most important factors of lithiasis.

Regular and sufficient hydration of individuals decrease concentration of lithogenic factors and improve function of inhibitors of crystallization in urine and pH of urine. The most important measure in preventing the formation of calculi are sufficient fluid intake, reduce salt intake, reduced intake of animal protein, balanced calcium intake, limiting the intake of purines and weight reduction.
