The experimental model of the rheumatoid arthritis is the adjuvant arthtitis in rats. The main aim of the present study was to monitor the prevalence of cognitive changes in early stages of arthritis.
Cognitive functions were tested in the Morris Warer Maze. A cognitive impairment was given by longer time and less effective strategy to find the hidden platform within 11 arthritic rats compared to 11 control rats.
The data were analyzed using factorial ANOVA with 3 within-subject factors (4 sides, 2 trials, and 4 days) and 1 between-subject factor (RA vs. controls).
