Abstract

Erythropoietin (EPO) - is the main regulatory factor of erythropoiesis. Substances with this effect are actually renamed "erythropoiesis stimulating agents" (ESA).

The determinative factor regulating endogenous EPO production is the amount of oxygen available on the level of productive cells.
