Differential diagnostics of acute hypoglycemia in children

Abstract

In our work we provided the differential diagnosis of hypoglycemia in childhood, reviewed the literature and proposed the diagnosis algorithm of investigation. We placed emphasis on proper collection of urine, serum and dry blood spot during acute hypoglycemia for further metabolic and endocrinological investigations.

These investigations could be negative if obtained aside from the acute attack of hypoglycemia.
