Abstract
The dosed infusion system is an up- to-date and efficient solution of the infusion line access point. lt represents a logical, practical and cost effective approach which provides minima I risk of contamination of the infusion line, liquids and pharmaceuticals and minimal risks ofboth peripheral and central vascular infections, extends the possible length of the infusion line application, saves the staff time and workload and reduces the costs of patient treatment. An important role in prevention of nosocomial and catheter-associated infections is played not only by nursing care of IV sites but also by the access into the infusion system and care of it.
