Abstract

The patient hospitalized mainly in specialized nursing units, such as anesthesiology and resuscitation department (ARO) or intensive unit care unit (ICU), usually has secured access to the intravascular circulation. This is to ensure venous access through a peripheral or central venous catheter.

Very often it is hospitalized patients on these wards introduced the arterial catheter for invasive monitoring of blood pressure and arterial blood sampling. Sister in the application intravenous medication infusion, blood sampling, it must handle many times a day or arterial infusion system, which brings with it considerable risk of nosocomial infections.

The closed infusion system, which includes needleless connectors, nurses must take care so as to effectively prevent the emergence of nosocomial infections (NI) blood riverbed.
