Serum Immunoglobulin Free Light Chains in Severe Forms of Atopic Dermatitis

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2010

Abstract

Increased levels of free light chains of serum immunoglobulins were described in monoclonal gammapathies or asthma bronchiale. Our examination determined increased free kappa and lambda chains including the kappa/lamba ratio in children with severe atopic dermatitis compared to mild clinical course of AD and helthy controls.

We observed close correlation between these values and the disease activity, independent of age or total IgE.
