Abstrakt
The authors tested the performance of three new software packages with reconstruction schemes recommended by the manufacturers using physical phantoms simulating realistic clinical settings. The largest improvement in image resolution and contrast was found for the scatter-corrected slices without application of post-filtering.
A choice between noise reduction by post-filtering and improved image resolution depends on the purpose of imaging.
