Abstract
Recent data on cryptorchidism are presented in the text, including the guidelines on diagnosis and therapy. Discrimination between palpable and non-palpable testis is the key point of therapy.
In the palpable testis, preoperative hormonal treatment is becoming a standard therapy to enhance the fertility potency. In the non-palpable testis, laparoscopy has become the method of choice.
