Ismaili community represent an interesting social phenomenon. The topic is investigated not only by religionists, but also by anthropologists, historians or archaeologists.
The aim of this article is to delimit problematic of this branch (sect) of Islam in a context of Central Asia. The author is specialised mostly to the area of contemporary Tajikistan.
Firstly, the author shortly defines religion issues in Central Asia, especially in Tajikistan. Other parts of the text are focused directly on the specific of the Ismaili religion.
Further, the author mentions basic aspects of the Ismaili religion and its meaning in everyday lives of the believers. In the end of the article is also mentioned personality of Aga Khan IV as the 49th hereditary Imam.
