Abstract
This article is a topical contribution to the issue of implementation of ethical education at Czech schools. Its goal is to familiarize the reader with the tradition of moral education at Czech schools.
It focuses on the issue of introduction of moral education as a subject and examines its development in the twenties and thirties of the last century. It concentrates on teaching moral education at general, experimental and reform schools.
It presents concrete pedagogical practices, deals with the then targets, curricula and subject methods.
