Abstract

This article describes the use of micromorphology of quartz grains (exoscopy) to study landscape development. It presents the basic principles of exoscopy including a discussion of methodology.

The article describes basic microtextures of quartz grains and their formation. Differences in microtexture proportion are described by evaluating examples of glacial and eolian grains.
