Abstract

The essay is engaged in the analysis of the university thesis of M.X. Volckmann, published in 1672.

The thesis, destinated for obtaining the degree 'Doctor of Philosophy', describes the glorious hisory and important personalities of the Prague University. Volckmann measures negatively the Hussite period and the development of the Prague Academy in the 15th and 16th century.

On the contrary he seeks and finds the greatest glory of the university under rule of Habsburgs, especially under Ferdinand III. as the time of the university unification in 1654.
