Abstract
My conclusions differ from those reached by Frey and Bohnet. While the applicability of the price system is restricted in important respects, there is little evidence that rent leaving can be explained by intrinsic motivation.
The evidence that the application of external interventions affects intrinsically motivated morale is questionable.
