Case study on regional disaggregation of used domestic extraction in the Czech Republic

Publication |
2004

Abstract

This paper presents first results of the regional disaggregation of domestic used extraction (a component of the Direct Material Input /DMI/ indicator) according to the NUTS 3 regions in the Czech Republic. Regional data for 2000-2002 further differentiating main parts of used domestic extraction (i.e. biomass, fossil fuels, minerals and metal ores) are compared with the data on used domestic extraction for the whole country and they are related to some regional reference scales to derive indicators of resource use comparable across regions.

These reference scales are above all regional population, area and regional economic output.
