Education of pupils and students with cochlear implants

Abstract

The book examines the benefits of cochlear implants for the life of their users in regular society. It focuses on the problems of schooling and education.

The thesis presents the results of an investigation of years 1996-2010 focused on school inclusion of students with the Nucleus cochlear implant. The complex situation in 2010, data on all bearers of a cochlear implant in theCzechRepublicin year 2010 are presented.

Subsequently links between aspects of cochlear implantation (implantation timeliness and selected other factors), the level of communication skills and school inclusion of cochlear implant users were analyzed.
