The study treats problems with the determination of the origin of the style and of the date of the execution of St George Codex. By the consistent analysis of the illuminations, the decoration has been divided by the formal point of view to five groups which might be hypotetically connected with 3-4 presumed illuminators to whom a possible artistic origin of their style has been proposed with the workshop localisation (the circle of Pacino di Bonaguida, cooperator of the Master of the Strozzi Breviary 11 and a Sienese master from the Roman environment around J.Stefaneschi) and a date of execution of the manuscript to the 30´s of the 14th century.
