Abstract

The notion of ancient royal government culminates in the delegation principle: God entrusted liturgy, jurisdiction and protection of the land into the hands of an elected human deputy. Usurpation of power characterizes decline, yet the ideal points towards the transcendental rule fo Christ the King.
