The article is an attempt of a systematic review of all that has in the last century been produced under the name 'process hermeneutics' in the area of Biblical interpretation. It introduces and explains the idea of God and the way of theology in the thought based on the philosophy of Alfred N.

Whitehead and Charles Hartshorne, and it presents the process articulation of the nature and scope of divine acting as protrayed in the Bible. In addition it gives an account of Whitehead's symbolism and and discusses the basic problems and promises of hermeneutics guided by process thought.
