Culture of solving problems - a tool for evaluation of culture of pupil solving of mathematical problems

Abstract

The poster presents a tool for assessing pupils' Culture of problem solving. The tool is made of three parts: A) Psychological screening (Váňa's test of intelligence), Christensen-Guilford test of creativity, Test of the ability reading with comprehension), B) Testing the ability to use existing knowledge, C) Evaluation by the mathematics teacher.

Piloting of the constructed tool in two 8th grades of two lower secondary schools in the Czech Republic (38 pupils aged 14 - 15) confirmed that it is suitable for assessing individual pupil's CPS.
