Abstract
Teacher assistants are one of the most important components of inclusive education. This paper presents results of selected foreign studies on teacher assistants’ deployment and their role in education, emphasizing findings of long-term British DISS project.
Presented researches attract attention to the most important aspects of teacher assistance: education and training of teacher assistants, cooperation between assistant and teacher, assistance to the teacher (not only to pupils with special educational needs).
