Abstract
Despite that Bernard Bolzano is now well known as a philosopher and matematician, his great signifikance is in ethics. He aimed to the reconciliaton between science and faith and by the this idea was fulled his exhorts to students.
Bolzano as teacher of philosophy influenced the candidates of all disciplines, because all studied before specialization (iura, theology, medicine) first philosophy under Bolzano. The main words for Bolzano are virtue and beatitude.
Bolzano wrote an utopian work „About the Best State“, where he demanded state kontrol and direction of the science to safe its development. As protection from ammoral aims and from missue of the science he demanded censure of the books.
His pupils and the folowers each of them by his way followed their teacher. Anton Krombholz supported industry in the north Bohemia and founded special schools.
Vincenc Zahradnik wrote in Bolzanos sense some articles in philosophy and ethics. Zahradnik was one of the first theologian thinkers, writing in the new time his works in Czech.
Bolzano and his pupils stated out, that the ethical legacy of the christianity must overlive in the modern times and remain for the future.
