Historian and Diplomat Vlastimil Kybal. Presentation and Representation of the Czech Science and Culture in 1919-1925

Abstract

Vlastimil Kybal, also professors J.Goll´s and T. G.

Masaryk´s student, was offered ambassador posts in Italy in 1919. Prof.

Kybal accepted the Italian offer. Paper traced Kybal´s Italian activities in 1920-1924 which enriched both countries relationships in science, culture and politics.

The ambassador more or less followed up with his own university work. However , according to his superior Edvard Beneš´ ideas.

Kybal was not a typical diplomat.
