Abstract
This article is the first attepmt to present van der Leeuw´s phenomenology of religion in a complex view in Czech language. Against scgolars who interpret van der Leeuw´s phenomenology along the lines of Husserl, the author of this article pursue an interpretation amphasizing that roots of van der Leeuw´s phenomenology lie in the psychologicalk concept of understanding (Verstehen) through re-experiencing and amphathizing (W.
