In the paper, the participation of employees in the decision-making on the workplace level is critically evaluated. Theoretical assumptions of, and arguments for, the so-called spillover thesis are presented.
In accordance to the spillover thesis, employee participation has positive effects on civil political involvement. The attitudets of both the proponents and oponents of the spillover thesis are presented.
Views of both schools are synthetized, while a paradox of the whole conception of the employee participation is drawn by an analysis.
