This study discusses about hydrological extreme of floods on the upper course of the Hron river in 1930–2010. Analysis is intended on the most extreme events in the last century, mainly year 1974.
The bigger intention is targeted the flooding of several last years with special looking on year 2002 and 2010 because the extreme events have increased tendencies. The floods are separately analysed by two flood’s regimes (winter and summer).
The results of this analysis refer to increased severity and frequency of summer floods but also the winter floods have still important position in this catchment. This study is complex of flood events from 1930 on the upper course of the Hron River, what is the necessary assumption for better forecast of floods on this catchment in the future.
