Estimation of the parameters of the map projection using the differential evolution

Abstract

The software determines 7 unknown constant values of the map's projection, minimizing the objective function with the unknown gradient, using the global optimizing self adaptive Differential evolution. It supports normal, transverse and oblique aspects of the projections.

Compared to the Nelder-Mead method, the differential evolution is more robust, if the objective function is non-convex and multimodal.
