In the light of the unsatisfactory ecological condition of most rivers and the effort to achieve good ecological condition of all water bodies by 2015, defined in the Water Framework Directive EU (EU WFD), the water management revitalization has gradually become a fundamental tool in water management planning. A suitable basis for such planning is provided by ecomorphological monitoring.
It is possible to carry out a detailed analysis of the river habitat condition and evaluate the effect of anthropogenic modification on the given hydrological system based on such monitoring. The aim of this work is to analyse anthropogenic influence on streams in the Rolava water basin, define reference reaches and prepare revitalization studies for three locations.
