The criminal subculture of the Russian-speaking prisoners

Abstract

This paper describes relations and behavior of criminals and prisoners, primarily from the former USSR. There is a system of rules common to most prisoners.

This is essentially a criminal ideology, slang, traditions, habits, ethics and aesthetics of criminal communities. This is so called criminal subculture.

Their aim is to strengthen the power of the individual and at the same time power of the groups.
