Methodology of School Attendance Postponement Research

Abstract

The paper deals with the presentation of the chosen methodological approach to the educational research in the field of postponement of school attendance and its social conditions. It explains first the importance of the research topic – i.e. the reasons for the research in the field of transition from pre-primary to primary education.

Subsequently the paper deals with the definition of the research aims and research questions and afterwards describes the mixed research design as the chosen methodological approach – the quantitative questionnaire survey and the longitudinal case study of selected children (i.e. the multiple case study).
