Rapid sperm acrosome reaction in the absence of acrosomal CD46 expression in promiscuous field mice (Apodemus).

Abstract

We have demonstrated a rapid acrosomal reaction (AR) and the absence of spermatozoal CD46 in three species of wild-caught field mice (Apodemus). In contrast, wild -caught house mice (M.musculus) express CD46 and take longer to undergo the AR.
