Segments crucial for membrane translocation and pore-forming activity of Bordetella adenylate cyclase toxin

Abstract

Segments of Bordetella adenylate cyclase toxin (CyaA) responsible for the AC domain translocation and channel formation were characterized. Amino acid residues that are involved are glutamates in positions 509, 516, E570 and E581.
