This work is based on Husserls traditional philosophic phenomenology and concentrates above all on the problems of primary psychological contact between a therapist and a person suffering from mental illness or a severe mental handicap. Starting point is a subjective, unrepeatable experience perceived as real.
This experience has a fundamental meaning in creating the structure of the inner world. Concrete, subjective experience in the moment when the therapist and client meet is then not only a way to enter into the inner world but also a way for possible correction.
