Role of PCR in diagnostics of invasive aspergillosis

Abstract

Early diagnostics of invasive aspergillosis (IA) is crucial for patient´s favorable outcome. This article summarizes advances in PCR diagnostics of IA in immunocompromised patients.

Types of clinical material, DNA isolation methods, PCR target genes and correlation of PCR results with other markers are discussed.
