Abstract
Psychiatric patients usually have greater variability and longer duration od their psychiatric hospitalizations. The psychiatric care is not restricted to immobile or resting patients and rehabilitation of social functioning and skills belong among the goals of hospitalization.
At the same time they may be really or potentially dangerous for themselves or others. This leads to specific requirements regarding their hospitalization, that are not frequently met in full.
New Clinic in Hradec Králové uses architectural elements (space, light) to provide environment for treatment of mentally ill individuals that aspires to be safe and functionally optimal.
