Increase of Nocturnal Melatonin Levels in Hemodialyzed Patiens after Parathyroidectomy A Pilot Study

Abstrakt

The aim was to assess the melatonin in blood (nocturnal time) in hemodialysis patients with advanced secondary hyperparathyreoidism before and after parathyreoidectomy. Significant increase after parathyreoidectomy was found, which may indicate yet unknown inhibitory effect of parathormone on melatonin release.
