Abstract

However, their earlier and successful treatment remains still limited by delayed establishing the correct diagnosis. Ability to walk at the beginning of treatment is the most important prognostic factor in patients with the spine metastatic involment.

Awareness of physicians should be levelled-up and the use of diagnostic modalities expedited when in suspicion of metastatic spine affections cases. This is the only way of how to achieve satisfactory results and prevent from the development of any irreversible neurological changes.

In cases of a severe preoperative neurological deficit, even the surgical release of spinal cord may often fail to improve substantially the limbs' motility disorder.
