Adenosine and methotrexate polyglutamate concentrations in patients with juvenile arthritis

Abstrakt

Adenosine concentrations in the plasma and MTX-polyglutamate concentrations in erythrocyte (EMTX) were assessed in 30 patients treated with MTX for juvenile idiopathic arthritis and in 16 untreated matched controls. Adenosine concentrations achieved 48 (SD 10) and 50 (SD 13) nmol/l in patients and controls, respectively (P = 0,55).

The mean (SD) EMTX was 216 (213) nmol/l. There was no correlation between plasma adenosine and either MTX dose or EMTX
