Ergonomic aspects of the work and the incidence of musculoskeletal disorders among dentists in the Czech Republic

Abstract
Dentists are a group of workers affected by an occurrence of Work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The occurrence of these diseases is significantly affected by the working environment, equipment, the working position of the dentist and the patient, the distribution of working time, rest and relaxation.
Performed questionnaire survey confirmed that the working environment and equipment enables most dentists in the Czech Republic to work according to the ergonomic principles, however, the presence of musculoskeletal disorders is high, especially among women. The cause can be found in an absence of application of ergonomic principles in practice.
