Medical examination of patients before elective surgery under general or local anaesthesia. Two views

Abstract

The anaesthesiologist's view on the medical examination of a patient according to his/her medical condition (ASA classification) and the type of the surgery is presented. The extent and the duration of validity of these examinations and laboratory tests are based on the recommendations of The Czech Society for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care.

A close remark of the general practitioner is added.
