Modern dental implants are highly reliable and have a long service life. The anatomic conditions in the single regions of the jaws are not, however, applicable to the same extent.Best results are noticed in the voluminous and highly mineralized bone of the frontal mandibular region.
On the contrary, the least favorable region is that of the maxillar molar, where the bone is spongious, only slightly mineralized and its height is often limited by the extended jaw cavity. This anatomic handicap can be overcome by sinus lift surgery.
