The potential toxic effects of repeated administration of the SIH, partly dissolved in 10% Cremophor solution, on various biochemical, haematological and cardiovascular parameters, and on morphology of selected tissues were investigated in rabbits. SIH did not induced marked signs of toxicity.

Only a few and mild changes in some biochemical and haematological parameters were found, but most of them were noted also in control saline and Cremophor groups. The morphological changes in the kidney were only mild.

Also the cardiac function was not affected markedly. Therefore, the obtained results can be considered to be promising from the standpoint of possible clinical use of the SIH.
