The chapter deals with the situation of the vagrant population in the Czech Lands. In the 17th and first half of the 18th century especially the "Gypsies" were harshly pursued because of their simple stay despite the repeatedly declared expulsion from the country.

The text focuses on cases when children or young people from the Gypsy groups were placed by force in settled families in order to be "re-educated". Rather than on extent adn succes of these measures the author concentrates on how the "Gypsy" habitus was defined.
