The unifying theme of the conference was the development from the oldest Czech translation of the Bible to the final edition of the Kralice Bible in 1613. There was a total of 14 presentations, dealing with issues such as the oldest Czech translations and contemporary exegetical aids, and biblical authority and the use of the Scripture by Master John Hus and other leading representatives of Hussitism and Utraquism such as Master Jacobellus de Misa and Master Wenceslaus Koranda jr., and also by opponents of the chalice.
Mention was made of the role plyed by Catholics in spreading the text of the Bible in the 16th century. Appropriate consideration was given to translations of the Bible by the Czech Brethren from liturgical, linguistic and historical viewpoints.
