Václav Láska (1862–1943) was “the last Czech polyhistor” of natural sciences. He became a famous mathematician, astronomer, geodesist, seismologist, meteorologist, cartographer and teacher.

The main aim of the article is to map his life, teaching and scientific activities in Lwów and Prague as well as his scientific results.
