Authors present experineces with a project that was organised in the academic year 2012/13 in a collaboration with Brunel University in London and that was primarily dedicated to teaching ICT on primary education. ICT student teachers from the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague who participated in this project designed teaching plans, teaching materials and tasks for children and they managed teaching at a primary school in Prague.
The idea of the project was born on Brunel University in London as "Literacy from Scratch". Its aim was to develop and implement into primary education learning activities for children which can contribute to their algorithmical thinking development using Scartch.
The main attention in this teaching approach was given to an original or authentic story with original pictures and to tell it in different manners: using a storyboard, a written essay, an oral storytelling and an animation designed and programmed in Scratch. The project was realised in a collaboration of Art, Czech, English and ICT teachers.
Children designed their animation in Scratch not only in Czech, but also in English.
