Parallel-sided hexagon generated by an arbitrary hexagon

Abstract

The diagonals of an arbitrary hexagon define six triangles over its sides. The centroids of these triangles form the vertices of a new hexagon whose opposite sides are parallel.

The article presents the proof of this fact and determines a relation between the the areas of the hexagons.
