Abstract

The article analyzes the opinions of the French-writing men of letters of the 14th century, especially Guillaume de Machaut, Jean Froissart, Eustache Deschamps, Philippe de Mézie;res and Jean d’Arras about the Czech lands and their inhabitants. It puts the opinions of the individual authors in a more general cultural context and evaluates them from the point of view of the genre of the pecularities of their works.
