Abstract

The study is dedicated to the debate on an ideal education and schooling for politicians and other publicly active persons (administration officers, journalists etc.) at the start of the 20th century. Although the issue of education and cultivation of these professions was on the agenda of most Czech political parties of that time, it was only the National Liberal Party who was able to reach a solution to the problem by founding the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1911.
