Modern Arab Historiography. Transition from Traditional to Professional Historiography

Abstrakt

Transition from traditional to professional Arab historigraphy first occured in Cairo (Muhammad Sabri, Shafiq Ghurbal) and Beirut (Philip Hitti, Asad Rustum) since 1920s, followed by Damascus and aghdad in the 1950s, and Amman in the 1960s.
